Just in time for Cannes, one of the most photographed megayachts in history is available for charter. While we had a challenging time choosing THE ONE Mi4M-worthy ship to profile, we had to go with The Christina O for sheer legendary status among the glitteratti. Aristotle Onassis regularly hosted Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, and Greta Garbo among many others on board the 325 ft yacht that underwent one of the most extensive rehabs in history.
Perhaps the most famous spot on board, Aris’ Bar, is where John F. Kennedy first met Sir Winston Churchill in 1957. The circular bar itself was crafted from the timbers of a Spanish Galleon, and is adorned with footrests and handholds of ornately carved whales’ teeth. Legend has it that the original barstools are covered in whale foreskin, which brings whole new meaning to “would you like to have a seat.” This could make some interesting party conversation.
Capable of accommodating up to 250 party guests and 19 luxurious staterooms, this could be the scene of your next Bacchanalian bash with your own group of A-listers. Or do like Mariah and slip out the back door of the “official festivities” on land and party with your real friends on your yacht in the Cote d’Azur.
The legendary swimming pool floor rises above the water to become a dance floor with just the push of a button. And of course no yacht worth its dinghy is complete without a helipad.
But get out your gold bullion; a floating palace like the Christina O is not cheap. But hey, you’re going to Cannes to make history and you just can’t put a price tag on that. Maybe Weinstein will pay.
